1942年，日军在中国占领区内强行拘留关押在华同友邦移民，把占大地积大、时候都全的潍县乐谈院修订为关押西方移民的集结营。

　　In 1942, Japanese forces detained Allied civilians in occupied China, transforming the spacious and well-equipped WeiHsien Courtyard of the Happy Way (known in Chinese as“Le Dao Yuan”乐谈院) into a concentration camp for Western expatriates.

　　潍县集结营是中国单体最大的西方移民集结营，1943年到1945年时间，曾关押过2000多名西方移民，其中包括327名儿童。关押在这里的同友邦移民来自英国、好意思国、比利时、荷兰、澳大利亚等国度。

　　As China's largest single internment camp for Western civilians, the Weihsien Concentration Camp once held over 2,000 foreign nationals from 1943 to 1945, including 327 children.Allied nationals detained here came from countries such as the United Kingdom, the United States, Belgium, the Netherlands, and Australia.

　　集结营内，移民们贫苦过活，集结营外，中国老庶民冒着生命危急为这些异邦友东谈主提供匡助，为衰颓中的移民带来生的但愿。在记录片中，咱们见证了伙夫谭云龙过甚邻居韩绪庭等豪迈中国老庶民，与集结营内的移民成立神秘联系，用竹竿挑送生活物质；掏粪工张兴泰父子更是将移民的求救信带给了潍县抗日武装组织，最终促成了恒安石和狄兰的奏效出逃，为集结营内的移民翻开了通往解放的大门；1945年8月17日，七名武装伞兵解放了集结营，这七东谈主包括六名好意思军和别称中国翻译王成汉……这一系列果敢步履，不仅展现了中国东谈主民的贤人与勇气，更深入体现了在走动眼前，东谈主类共有的对解放与和平的渴慕。

　　Inside the camp, the internees endured harsh conditions. Outside, local Chinese risked their lives to provide aid, offering hope amid despair.The documentary highlights the bravery of ordinary people like Tan Yunlong, a cook, and his neighbor Han Xuting, who secretly passed supplies to the internees using bamboo poles.The cleaning workersZhang Xingtai and his son helped smuggle out a plea for help, leading to the escape of Arthur W. Hummel Jr. and Laurance Tipton—an act that opened the door to freedom for many.On August 17, 1945, the camp was liberated by seven paratroopers—six Americans and Chinese interpreter Wang Chenghan.These courageous actions reflect not only the wisdom and bravery of the Chinese people but also a shared human longing for freedom and peace in times of war.

　　Weihsien Concentration Camp stands as a symbol of Sino-Western Allied cooperation in the fight against fascism.Through rare historical materials, survivor testimonies, and reenactments, the documentary WeiHsien Concentration Camp: Remembering for Peace unveils this long-concealed history, tracing real events such as “Underground Black Market,“ “Escape Plans,“ and “Operation 'Duck'.“It restores the narrative of life-and-death bonds between Chinese civilians and foreign internees during darkest hours.More than a documentary about war and survival, it is a transnational ode to the brilliance of humanity.
